Do not be misled by other when they say you need to be physically strong to play tennis and to be naturally talented. No doubt these attributes will enhance your tennis game, learning tennis is in fact not as difficult as one would think.

Most of us would have been taught tennis by the book or through a coach who went through a structured tennis course which proposes one to turn, step into the ball, racket back etc. These in essence makes the who tennis learning experience very complicated. It not only confuses the mind, it also tires the mind. You will be worn out before you start. There is another way to learn in 60 minutes.

The traditional way of teaching tennis emphasizes good footwork and in fact goes to teach one how to move. This had made learning tennis daunting to many given that we are all forced to move in a certain manner only which may be in contrast to our natural way of moving. As such, it is better then not to focus on footwork so much but just train the mind to find the ball and push it. Compelling one to only move in a certain manner may retard the progress of the student.

We hear of the phrase hand eye co-ordination which literally means connecting the eye movements to the hands. However, in conventional tennis teaching, other facets of tennis are thrown into the teaching methodology such as focusing on footwork. This will throw the student's focus away from the important moment of finding the ball and executing the hitting at the point of contact.

Simply palm the ball and follow through with your hand towards your left cheek. Repeat this process while pushing the ball over the net with your palms and then with your racket. You will be able to feel some success in hitting the ball over the net by now.

You will be pleasantly surprised by your ability to consistently hit the ball over the net with a slight top spin in a very short time on the court. In summary, empty your mind an only focus on finding the ball and brushing it over the net as explained above.
