It is hard to imagine how hard life would have been if one is unable to use his or her feet. The foot is just as important as the hand, and it allows you to be able to perform many functions that are most essential in daily life. Without the feet, one can not go to places. One will never be able to feel the sensation of walking to check a new place out. One will never know how it feels to run, leap, hop, stumble down, then rise again. In short, it is easy to miss out on life if you are unable to walk.

Due to its importance, it is but essential for one to take care of their own pair. They are many foot hygiene kits to keep feet in optimal condition. When going out, it is recommended that one wear toggi boots, shoes, and slippers to somehow protect them from getting splintered and the like.

A boot is a specific type of footwear. Typically, they cover the foot and the ankle and extend to the leg. Some boots even reach as high as the knee. They also typically have that very distinguishable heel even if the entire sole was made from one piece of material only.

Originally, they were used by those who work around horses. They were then called riding boots and are usually made of leather. Some reach the knee, some only reach mid calf. They feature different types of catch for them to be closed around the foot. The really dressy ones are laced up. Those who can not be bothered by such intricacies use those that have zippers at the back.

Jodhpur types as designed for riding equines. They are classified under the riding boot category. They have rounded toes and low heels. But, the most characteristic part of the jodhpurs is that it features a strap that wrap around the ankle and is fastened by a buckle.

Cowboy boots seem to be the colorful counterparts of those used by serious equestrians. They are only slightly shorter, too, and most often does not reach the knee. They come in different materials, colors and designs. They can be quite hard to mix and match to any ensemble, and that only adds to its unique characteristic.

Wellington types were named so because they were popularized by the first Duke of Wellington. Today, they are more commonly known as rubber boots. These types are staple ensemble for hunting and any outdoor activity. They first came in black and other dull colors, but more colorful ones are available at the present. They can even bear varied designs, including cartoon characters for children to use.

Mules are a cross between sandals and shoes. They are closed of in front but totally open at the rear. This type of footwear initially has a bad reputation because they were first worn and popularized by paid women. These shoes only regained a more positive stature when a famous Hollywood actress wore it and broke the stereotype attached to it.

Mules are also known as half shoes. They have closed front appearances, just like a slipper, and yet they are open at the back, like a slipper. They were avoided by most because they were originally linked to prostitutes, but are now socially acceptable. Chaps, in an altogether different light, are leather coverings used mainly by cowgirls and boys. They are worn over the pants to protect them when riding out on a horse.
